A porch wraps around the whole of the white house with rocking chairs out front and a porch swing long enough for two or three people in back. Students often sit out here to study and socialize and staff enjoy its peace while the kids are at school or after lights out.

Counselors at Deercreek are responsible for cooking the usually simple meals and are typically the only ones allowed in the kitchen without permission. It is not uncommon to find staff eating their meals in the breakfast nook for a bit of peace and quiet. Off the kitchen, however, is the dining room where around half the students can eat at any given time around one of several rectangular tables.

Off the main room is a study room with several desks and computers for school use only (most everything else is blocked). For students that cannot study with distractions or dislike studying in bed, this room is their home away from home.

On the second floor, twelve of the bedrooms are for students while four are for counselors. The riding instructors, barn manager, and stable hands live in the finished attic in their own rooms.

- - the backyard ,

The back porch opens out onto a spacious backyard where students often play soccer or other games. Off to one side is a large maple with a simple swing handing from a branch. Most often, Deercreek's resident three-legged Labrador, Kia, can be found lying out in the grass or chasing the kids when they play games.
