From His Myspace Bio:
Well, my name is Blaine Starling Thompson. My mom's a crack head, runs in the family, I guess, so god only knows where the fuck she came up with the name Blaine Starling. She's a fucking whore, so we've got no idea who my dad is. And personally, I really don't give a shit. Why would that matter to me? Anyway, I pretty much just like a good time. And I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie, I suppose. I'll do just about anything to get a good rush. Soo, hit me up, folks.
Blaine was born to one Maria Thompson, who got kicked out by her parents when she was sixteen because she couldn't kick a cocaine problem. She became pregnant with Blaine at seventeen, and gave birth at eighteen. The child's whole life has been a blur of men he didn't know and his mother getting high and leaving him to fend for himself. He started acting out when he was young, sometime around second or third grade, getting in fights and mouthing off to the teacher. Anyone who knew where the child coming from would have known that it was really more a plea for attention than anything else. He wasn't truly a bad child, not in the way we think of as bad, he was just starved for attention. He was disciplined, as was typical, and it was one of those things where negative attention was better than no attention at all.
He got into drugs when he was thirteen. He got a hold of one of his mom's joints. It didn't take him long to get hooked, and really, why shouldn't he have? He saw his mother and her guys doing it all the time. He was one of few kids in those situations who was never abused, at least, not physically. Neglect is a type of abuse all its own, though, and he was certainly neglected.
From pot, of course, it just kept getting bigger and bigger, until heroine became his drug of choice. He had his first run in with the law at fourteen, when he got into a fist fight and they also caught him with heroin. From there, he was in the system, in and out with a parole officer and his drugs, as well as a few additional fighting cases. This last time, he got caught dealing and ended up getting sent here. Ironically enough, his crack head mother was the one who turned him into his parole officer, which naturally pissed him off to no end.
The boy's a total softy underneath his bad ass exterior, although he'd never admit it. He's a rather hopeless romantic, and he really just wants to settle down with some cute girl. He's extremely loyal to the people he considers friends, and really, he's a pretty friendly, happy go lucky kid. He has a bit of a temper problem, and this always increases majorly when he's high. He's particularly protective of his female friends, although not respectful enough to avoid sleeping with any of them.
Truly, he loves animals, and he's not particularly afraid of horses. Truth be told, he's kind of excited to be working with them. He likes dogs and cats, and he figures horses are just like a big dog or something. At any rate, he's not too bitter about being here, and as he's getting older and maturing, he's starting to realize that he's an addict and that he doesn't want the life his mother has for himself. Really, what kind of life is it at all? A life dominated by drugs? He doesn't want that for himself, and so he's pretty willing to meet Deer Creek with arms wide open. Like everybody here, he's got his share of issues, including a continued temper problem, and of course, the withdrawals from his heroine. Even so, he's a nice enough kid when he's sober and his parole officer thinks he'll do well here.
