- - well, give us the full run down, your whole life story
Likes:
• Coffee, tea, hot chocolate
• Running, especially in the early morning or right as the sun sets
• Sleeping in on weekends, naps, and cuddling.
• Yeah, he’s a smoker. At least he’s polite about it.
• Animals, especially horses and dogs.
• Mythology. His favorites are Greek, Roman, and Norse… however he has a vast library of any and all mythological texts.
Dislikes:
• Bleeding. Blood doesn't bug him, but he hates bleeding himself. He also has a slight fear of needles, so tends to get wimpy when he needs to get a shot. He's kind of a baby about pain.
• Vampires. He just doesn't understand the whole big boom of vampire interest. Especially since most of the new vampire stuff is totally way off.
• Alcohol. Not so much a dislike, more of he dislikes the way that he gets when he drinks. Ben becomes very loose lipped and even more awkward than he’d generally be if flirting occurs. Plus he doesn’t like the taste of many beers.
•• Friendly • Open • Talkative • Optimistic • Responsible • Passionate ••
Perhaps the first way to describe Benjamin is to say that he's got an easy to be around kind of attitude. He's always the first one to offer a smile when he thinks that someone needs one, and there's no denying that his laugh and all around good mood is rather infectious. With such a friendly demeanor, it’s rather hard for others to feel depressed around him. And that’s how Ben prefers it. He deals with depression and other emotionally trying attitudes everyday at work; if he were some kind of Donnie Downer then it would just make him want to hang himself. Damien likes thinking, and knowing, that he can help people feel better. Becoming a psychologist was a step he took in order to try and better the lives of others, and coming to work for a facility like Deer Creek was only a step closer to pumping up his good karma.
While he falls in to the role of responsible, and easy to talk to very well, he is also a very open and talkative person. In fact, Ben has times of being a downright chatterbox on occasion. Ben falls in between loud jock and quiet bookworm, having played baseball in school and making sure that his grades were top shape, building his own stereotype all together. Around other men he likes to debate, joke around, and give advice… with the occasional man gossip type of chatter as well. It’s a bit odd seeing as most men he’s met have been very reserved with their conversation. With women he’s opinionated, unknowingly flirty, and has no problem carrying on a conversation about most topics. He enjoys the company of an intelligent mind, and if that happens to be in the form of a man or a woman then so be it. Flirting is, perhaps, the only area that Ben struggles in. He seems to trip over himself and lead the conversation down an awkward road, more than being a suave romantic.
Benjamin is more of a lover than a fighter, although he was more hot headed and ready for battle when he was a teenager. Don't let his hesitancy to engage in a physical altercation leave you with the idea that he's a wuss, though. On the contrary, he would rather choose his battles and use his fists as a last resort. He's protective of those that he's close to, and this feeling becomes even stronger when it involves the woman he is currently dating. She becomes a priority. And the whole "green monster" thing? Yeah, Ben can be found guilty of being jealous now and then, but he rarely gets to the point of being scary jealous. Instead he prefers to try and talk things out, figure out what is really going on, and go from there.
