Miss Di Rossi here decided that just because her dad died it would be a good excuse to start failing school, get in fights, and party constantly. After she pulled a knife on a girl and got kicked out of school the courts decided to send her here since being around horses seems to be the only thing that calms her down.

Being sent to Deercreek.
Alex watched as the judge looked through some papers on her desk, papers that had to do with her and every ounce of trouble she'd been in over the last year. 'Quite an impressive file you got here Alex. You know, I was going easy on you at first since your father had just died but this last thing I can't ignore. Pulling a knife out in a fight?! What were you thinking?! Since it seems the only thing that will help you will be some time at a youth ranch. I'm sentencing you to Deercreek Ranch until you can get yourself under control again' Alex actually smirked a little, staying at a ranch wouldn't be so bad. She'd be surrounded by horses and that wasn't a bad thing at all.
the day after her dad died
"Lexie come up to the house, I need your help with dinner!" Alex heard her mother's call but she ignored it.She was in the stable, sitting in Ranger's stall. He was the first horse her dad had bought just for her. She and her dad used to spend tons of time in here, working all day, training the horses, grooming them, mucking stalls. This was the only place Lex didn't feel like her world was falling apart and she didn't plan on leaving it anytime soon. She laid her head down in the straw and fell asleep to the sound of Ranger eating his grain.

She was a competitive barrel racer, one of the best in her devision, she'd made it to nationals the year her father died but didn't compete because of his death. She had at least a 3.0 GPA every semester as that was the rules for riding, if they dropped below that she wouldn't be allowed in the barn until they were back up. She had plenty of friends but they were all good kids, none of the partying delinquents she keeps company with now. She used to always be laughing and smiling and respectful but she completely changed. I don't even know my daughter anymore."
